What should you expect at Student Led Conferences?
Student Led conferences are actually a time when students demonstrate that they are leaders of their own learning. Entheos students learn how to curate a personal portfolio of work, and in the weeks leading up to the conference they practice presenting and holding conversations about their work. We have found that with careful scaffolding, even our youngest students can be successful in this experience!
At your child’s conference they will show you what they have been doing at school, telling you about their strengths and struggles, sharing their academic performance data and criteria for success, and outline their personal learning goals; both in the realm of character and academics.
Student Led Conferences:
Develop your child's understanding of their own strengths and challenges
Develop your child's self-assessment and communication skills
Build the independence, confidence, and personal responsibility of your child
Provide an opportunity for your child to receive your supportive feedback
Provide an opportunity to celebrate your child's learning
Promote a much higher level of engagement for both the parents and students
Because your child has spent so much time and energy preparing to share their learning with you, your attendance is critical. We understand that sometimes conflicts and difficulties happen, so If you cannot attend your student’s SLC please contact your child’s teacher and we will work to accommodate your needs. We also want to remind and assure you that you may request a parent-teacher conference at any point during the year! Our teachers are always eager to discuss your child’s learning.
