Introduction Letter For Our New Director Print

12/14/09

Dear Parents,

I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself and tell you each how excited I am to be the newest member of the Entheos Academy family. As an educator, I have been an active observer of and participant in the charter school movement for nearly a decade now.  I have felt the many thrills and frustrations that go along with new school implementation, start-up and year to year operations.  I have gotten to know the parents who desire a better educational opportunity for their children.  I have worked with the dedicated teachers and administrators who have embraced the promise of charter schools.  I have met with the legislators who shape the policy that make charter schools a reality. Most importantly I have come to respect and admire the many students who have been a part of my life for these several years and have seen the difference that quality schools have made in their lives.  I believe wholeheartedly in charter schools and the impact that have had and will continue to have on the landscape of American education. Entheos Academy represents the kind of change that the charter school movement embodies.

Let me first express my heartfelt admiration to you as parents.  Choosing a school like Entheos Academy demonstrates your commitment to your child’s education.

You’re willingness to transport your children to and from school each day, provide them with the appropriate school uniform, the time you dedicate as volunteers and the many hours you spend assisting your children with projects and assignments are contributions that don’t go unnoticed by myself or the staff and faculty of Entheos.

I have had the pleasure, over the past several days, to begin the process of getting to know our students.  I have appreciated the kind words, notes and handshakes that have been extended to me from the remarkable young men and women that attend EA.

Over the past two weeks, I have been meeting with our staff and faculty individually and collectively.  I am so impressed by their dedication to the mission and values of Entheos Academy. These meetings and interviews have served to identify the priorities that we will focus on during the remainder of this school year and for years to come. These priorities include: Safety, Professional Culture, Academic Excellence, Special Education, Response to Intervention, Technology and Parent Volunteerism.

I am confident that giving consistent and dedicated attention to these priorities will result in Entheos Academy becoming the highest performing and most sought after school of choice in the state. Over the coming days, weeks and months you will receive a many invitations to help Entheos Academy become all that it was intended to be.

In closing, I would be remiss if I failed to thank Dr. Craig Pace for his remarkable contribution to Entheos Academy.  His shoes will be hard to fill but the footprint he has left on the evolution of Entheos Academy is unmistakable and I thank him both for his leadership and friendship.

Again, I look forward to getting to know each of you.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.

Sincerely,

Bradford S. Lester
