The EL Approach Print

Our Classroom is the World

Entheos has partnered with Expeditionary Learning Schools (ELS), one of the nations top ten school reform models, to implement its educational vision of a comprehensive education program emphasizing high academic achievement through active learning, character growth, service, and teamwork. Entheos is the first EL school in Utah.

In a collaborative effort, ELS and the curriculum committee of the Entheos board have identified text and curricular materials that will complement the active pedagogy promoted by ELS and address the Utah state standards.

In The World In Action Print

Community Service:

Organized service learning activities planned and carried out by students help develop a commitment to family and community as they reach outside of themselves to help others. School work will culminate in professional products produced by students for the community.

Fieldwork:

Children learn best by experiencing the world first hand. We enhance learning through expeditions that take us through a topic of study in the classroom as well as into the community and the natural world. "Fieldwork" encourages deeper inquiry and research. We meet real-world experts and provide service to authentic audiences.
